Intricate Modular Paper Sculptures

Paper has always seemed like a plain and dull material to me. That's why we draw and paint on it, so we can liven it up with beautiful creations. However. artist Richard Sweeney found a way to liven up paper by sculpting with it. Richard Sweeney was born in Huddersfield, England in 1984. he went to Batleys School of Art and Design in 2002 and since then has gone to Manchester Metropolitan University in order to study Three Dimensional Design. He now sculpts with basic materials such as paper and teaches people at workshops how to do the same.
Richard Sweeney's art drew me in because it was so unique. Never before have i ever seen someone sculpt with paper before. I especially was captivated by the sculpture of the girl. It just blows my mind how he was able to make it seem so realistic. this inspires me to try doing unique things such as this when im doing art. Maybe i could create sculptures out of basic material too.

These photographs were taken by photographer Mikko Lagerstedt. He is a self-taught photographer from Finland that has been taking captivating pictures such as these since 2008. He personally loves night and atmospheric pictures and his goal is to display the emotion he felt through these images. This inspiring talent originated from the time he lost his best friend at age 20. He now is inspired from that event to take beautiful pictures of Finland landscape with a Nikon D800 and Ricoh GR camera. his advice to any amature photographer is  to keep on taking photos and eventually, you will find your vision and style.
I personally am drawn to his artwork because it shows me the beauty of the world. I spend my days looking out a car window and seeing litter on the side of the street. When i see an image like this where it just displays nature in its true form, it leaves me breathless. It creates a feeling of adventure inside of me. In other words, it makes me want to travel the world so I can see sites like these.
